Nick Maxwell created Data Matters while teaching Statistics at the University of Washington, Bothell, where he also taught Thinking & Decision Making, Psychology, the Philosophy of Science, and Research Methods. Data Matters is the result of Nicks close attention to how hundreds of liberal arts students learned statistics in his courses.
Nick earned his Ph.D. in Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, studying statistics and the decision sciences in Penns psychology program and at Wharton. He is a member of the American Statistical Association, American Marketing Association, ACMs SIG on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, and the American Psychological Association. He has also published and presented papers on teaching statistics.
In 1999, Nick founded the Maxwell Statistics Corporation, which provides advanced statistical analysis and training seminars for market research. He is currently Eddie Bauers marketing statistician.
