The Workshop Statistics™ Series

The publication of the first editions of Workshop Statistics (as part of the FIPSE- and NSF-funded Workshop Mathematics Project at Dickinson College, PA) in its three versions established the texts as the most popular for courses stressing active learning in introductory statistics. We've recently expanded the series with new student and instructor support.

NOW AVAILABLE FOR STUDENTS AND FACULTY!!

Key College Publishing is proud to now offer you and your students three important new manuals to improve learning:

Workshop Statistics Student Toolkit

And two Workshop Statistics Software Companion Manuals:

JMPTM Companion Manual
SPSS® Companion Manual

The "Workshop" pedagogy for teaching and learning introductory statistics is based on active student participation. It emphasizes collaborative learning; the integration of technology to gather, record, and synthesize data; and requires student observation. Rather than offering a passive lecture format, the approach of Workshop Statistics encourages students to explore principles, apply techniques, and discover statistical concepts. Each text contains sufficient material for use as the main text in a course, but is inexpensive enough to be added on as a lab component in some courses.

The second editions incorporate many suggestions from users and increased support for instructors. Author Allan J. Rossman is joined by Beth L. Chance as coauthor for the entire series. J. Barr Von Oehsen joins Allan and Beth on the Graphing Calculator version. In addition, we are pleased to announce a new addition to the series that integrates our Fathom Dynamic Statistics™ software, coauthored by Robin H. Lock. James H. Albert takes the lead on a new Bayesian Approach addition to the series.
