Dr. Beth L. Chance:
Dr. Chance is Assistant Professor, Dept of Statistics, California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and previously taught in the Department of Mathematics at University of the Pacific. Dr. Chance has a B.S. from Harvey Mudd College and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Operations Research, with a concentration in Statistics, from Cornell University. Member of the Mathematical Association of America, the American Statistical Association, and serves as an officer in the ASA's Section on Statistical Education and on the editorial boards of Stats a magazine for students, the Journal of Statistics Education and The American Statistician.
Dr. Chance conducts research on the effectiveness of technology for helping students to learn statistical concepts and explores alternative assessment strategies. She is also a faculty consultant for the Advanced Placement program in Statistics.
Personal: Her personal hobbies include volleyball and tennis.

Dr. Allan J. Rossman:
Dr. Rossman is Associate Professor of Statistics and Mathematics at California State Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, and formerly at Dickinson College. Dr. Rossman has a B.A. from Geneva College and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Statistics from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Rossman serves as Chair of the ASA's Section on Statistical Education and on the editorial boards of Stats, a magazine for students, the Journal of Statistics Education, and The American Statistician.
Dr. Rossman was the director of the MAA's STATS project that conducted workshops for mathematicians who teach statistics. He has chaired the ASA/MAA Joint Committee on Undergraduate Statistics.
Personal: His personal interests include managing a “fantasy” baseball team.

Dr. Allan J. Rossman and Dr. Beth L. Chance (joint work):
Dr. Chance and Dr. Rossman are co-authors of the Workshop Statistics series of coursebooks published by Key College Publishing. They have also published articles in the College Mathematics Journal and in The American Statistician. Drs. Chance and Rossman currently have a grant from the NSF to develop curricular materials for a post-calculus introduction to statistics. They have given presentations and conducted workshops on statistics education around the world.
